Joyce Taylor Lueck

Joyce F. Taylor Lueck, age 88, formerly of Ripon, died peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2010, at Lake View Estates in Fond du Lac, WI.
Joyce was born on August 30, 1922, on a farm near Brandon, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Eleanora (Mahlke) Follmer. Joyce spent her early years on the farm, attended Brandon Public Schools where she was valedictorian of her class. In her late teens and early twenties, she cared for her acutely ill mother as Joyce studied and graduated from Oshkosh Business College. After graduation she was employed at the Ripon State Bank where she met and married Donald Taylor. They resided in Ripon and had three children: Thomas, Patricia and James Taylor. In 1969, Don Taylor died and Joyce was left to raise her family. In 1972, she and Donald Lueck were married, merging their two families, including Don’s two sons, Daniel and Thomas Lueck. Joyce was very active in community affairs. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, served on the church council and was council president. Joyce was a board member and president of Ripon Community Fund, and president of Ripon Women’s Club. She was also a member of V.F.W. Post #5278 Auxillary, was on Fond du Lac County Mental Health Board and she worked at the voting polls for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; children, Thomas (Karen) Taylor, Patricia Taylor Helgren, James (Lisa) Taylor, Daniel (Patti) Lueck and Thomas Lueck; grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Helgren, Allison Lueck Hunkins, Betsy Lueck Allan, Joshua, Haley and Jacob Taylor; great-grandchild, Vinnie and one brother, Noel (Betty) Follmer, her neice, Roxanne (Greg) Gullikson and her nephew, Joel (Diane) Follmer. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Joyce Taylor Lueck will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 6 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971, and again Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 10 – 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran, 430 Griswold St. Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Joyce Taylor Lueck will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Pastor Sandra Krynik will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be sent to Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon.
