Julie J. Mielka, age 66, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI.
Julie was born in Ripon on October 14, 1956, daughter of Nelson and Margaret (Smith) Mielka. She graduated from Ripon High School and continued her education to receive both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Julie was a preschool teacher for many years. She enjoyed reading, participating in various sports, and spending time outdoors.
Julie is survived by her daughter, Karin Hanisch of Lincoln, NE; a sister, Jennel Lampe of Woodstock, IL; and a brother, Joel Mielka of Latah, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Florence (Duescher) Mielka; and two stepbrothers, Richard Brooks and Harold W. Brooks Jr.
A celebration of life and gathering for Julie’s friends and family will take place on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon.
