June Violet Crain, age 71, of Ripon, WI, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Wisconsin Dells on Monday, April 14, 1997.
June was born on July 28, 1925, the daughter of George and Viola (Potratz) Gratton in Fond du Lac, WI. She graduated from Fond du Lac High School. Only July 8, 1950, she married Robert Crain in Fond du Lac. She lived in the Ripon area most of her life, and was a member of Ripon’s Woman’s Club, Ripon Science Club, Ripon Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of the library, St. Patrick Altar Society, Bridge Club, Sewing Circle and South Woods Association.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn “Jodi” (Brad) Davis and her special grandson, Drew all of Wisconsin Dells; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Michalowski, Mrs. Marguerite La Pine and Mrs. Judie (Norman) Behnke, all of Fond du Lac; and one brother, Adrian Gratton of Colorado. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. James Braund and family of Wisconsin Dells and Maile Jean Singson of Hawaii. June was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Crain, her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Finke and Mrs. Betty Pickart.
June will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother. She was very dedicated to her family and her friends. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 1997, at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon with Father John A. Schmitz officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 16, 1997, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with a Rosary to be held at 6:30 pm. A memorial has been established in her name.
