Karl S. Hielsberg, 63, 420 Pearl St., Ripon, died July 21, 1988, at the University Hospital in Madison.
He was born October 16, 1924, in Ripon to Henry and Minnie Press Hielsberg. On August 7, 1954, he married Lorraine Voight.
Mr. Hielsberg was educated in Ripon and he lived in Ripon all his life. He was a Postal Clerk for 14 years.
Mr. Hielsberg was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon, Our Saviours Dartball Team and Mixers Club and was custodian at the church for the past five years; past Cub Scout Master and Webelo Leader of Pack #3737 for many years. He served in the United States Navy from April 21, 1943 through March 22, 1946. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; two sons, Thomas of San Diego, CA and Michael of Sterling, IL; three grandchildren; four brothers, Louis of Ripon, Armin and Orrin of Milwaukee and Kurt of Neenah; one sister, Gertrude Briese of Fairwater; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25, 1988, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. The Reverend Harley C.W. Tretow will officiate and interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 8:00 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. A memorial has been established for the church.
