Katherine Berndt

Katherine A. Berndt, age 82, of 802 Grace St., Waupun, died Sunday, November 23, 2003, at Waupun Memorial Hospital in Waupun.

She was born April 27, 1921, in Ripon, a daughter to Henry and Anna (Jantz) Wrzinski. She attended Ripon Public Schools. On September 27, 1941, she married Lawrence Berndt in Ripon. For 50 years she attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon and for the past 32 years, attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waupun. Katherine was a cook at the Christian Home in Waupun for 11 years.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Berndt of Waupun; children, Kenneth (Charlotte) Berndt of Overland Park, KS; Barbara (Charles) Crnkovich of Kalamazoo, MI and Mary (Bruce) Heidel of Fond du Lac; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Father Mike Moran officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 10-11a.m. prior to the service. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon at a later date. A memorial has been established in her name.
