Kelsey Kuhs

Kelsey J. Kuhs, age 82, of 504 Russell Dr, Ripon, died Saturday, November 9, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.

He was born September 22, 1920, in Ripon, the son of Louis and Amanda (Prieve) Kuhs. He was a graduate of Ripon High School. Kelsey served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946. On April 30, 1943, he married Norma Lange in Fond du Lac. Kelsey was a member of the Ripon V.F.W., and was a charter member of the Ripon Lions Club. Mr. Kuhs was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon. He was a barber and had worked for Harold Plagenz, Roy Bentley and Floyd Wilder prior to owning his own barber shop located at the Davis Hotel. He also owned the Kelnorr Motel in Ripon.

Survivors include his wife, Norma M. Kuhs of Ripon; 3 children, Richard (Gloria) Kuhs of Laguna Hills, CA, Barbara (Gary) Blascoe of Roscoe, IL, and Vickie (Jeff) Halom of Rockton, IL; grandchildren, April (Justin) Sinkiawic, Amanda Cooper, Ryan Kuhs and Lilly Halom; and great-grandson, Cooper Sinkiawic. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Amanda Kuhs; brother, Milton Kuhs; infant daughter; and grandson, Derek Kuhs.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon with Rev. Margaret G. Richardson Zedan officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
