May 14, 1942 — February 7, 2025

Oshkosh

Larry M. Eils, age 82, of Oshkosh, WI (formerly of Harvard, IL), passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Ripon Community Hospital.

Larry was born on May 14, 1942 in Kenosha, WI, son of Karl and Ann (Jelen) Eils. He was a graduate of Kenosha Bradford High School; earned his B.S. from Carroll University; and received his M.S. from the University of Michigan. On July 20, 1963 he married his high school sweetheart, Marsha Mathews.

Larry had many interests, including gardening, woodworking, beekeeping, vintage British cars, traveling, and squished penny collecting. He was also an avid blood donor and a connoisseur of wine and coffee. Larry enjoyed camping with his family at Bay View Campground in the U.P.

Larry truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a hard worker, always willing to assist with any project. In their free time, Larry and Marsha enjoyed working with their daughter and son-in-law at their apple orchard. Larry also prioritized fun and play. He loved building sandcastles with his grandchildren each year at the beach, visiting his favorite lighthouses and frequenting his favorite winery with Marsha. Larry could often be found wearing shirts and hats featuring his favorite vending machine snacks, a nod to his time working at the National Automatic Merchandising Association (a vending machine company).

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marsha Eils; his daughters, Kristine Shultis and LoriAnn (John) Redmond; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ryan Dykstra) Redmond, Andrew Redmond, Grace (fiancé, Devin Murphy) Shultis, and Julia Shultis; and his beloved Keeshonds, Hannah and Hagen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Ann Eils.

A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenosha, WI, also at a later date.
