Laura V. Clausen, age 96, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Wolverton Glen in Ripon.
Laura was born on July 4, 1911 in Green Lake County, the daughter of Edward and Pauline (Schimmel) Schroeder. She graduated from Ripon High School and worked as a telephone operator until she married Dwight L. Clausen on June 4, 1938. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to garden, can, and enjoyed baking, and her home made bread was the best you could ever eat. Laura was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, the Women’s Guild of the church, Pilgrim Rebecca Lodge, and the Wisconsin Farm Bureau.
Survivors include two daughters; Jeanette Clausen of Little Rock, AR, and Joan (William) Kiggens of Ripon, two sons; James (Cynthia) Clausen and Donald (Debra) Clausen both of Ripon, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Donald (Delores) Schroeder of Oshkosh and nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Arnold Schroeder.
Visitation for Laura Clausen will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 from 10-11:00 am in the Chapel of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral Services for Laura Clausen will be held at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Loper Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Memorials can be given to the Radio Fund for Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon in her name.
