Laura Sommerfeld

Laura Adela Sommerfeld, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on September 24, 1984, at home.

Laura was born May 7, 1899, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Christian and Ottilia (Werdin) Krey. She married Henry Sommerfeld on March 22, 1921 until his death on December 23, 1961. Laura worked as a knitter at Ripon Knitting Works for 50 years. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.

Survivors include one daughter, Lois (Clarence) Voeltner of Ripon, WI; four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Margaret (Harvey) Davitz of Franklin, WI and one brother, Edwin Krey of Ripon, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation for Laura will be held on Thursday, September 27, 1984, from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Funeral Service for Laura will be held on Thursday, September 27, 1984, at 8:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend James Mohr officiating. A private interment will be held on Friday, September 28, 1984, at 12:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established.
