Laura A. Umbreit, age 84, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, May 13, 1985, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
Laura was born May 8, 1901, in Blue Earth, MN, the daughter of August and Julia (Werdin) Jonas. She was educated in Ripon, WI and lived there most of her life. Laura married Clarence Umbreit on June 23, 1935 until his death on February 18, 1966. She worked as a telephone operator. Laura was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include two brothers, Walter Jonas of Waupun, WI and Erwin Jonas of Ripon, WI; two sisters, Verna Sommers of Ripon, WI and Ethel Chipman of Ripon, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.
Visitation for Laura will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 1985, from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Laura will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 1985, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Harley C.W. Tretow officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established for the church.
