Lavern Decramer

Lavern A. “Deak” DeCramer, age 82, of Princeton, formerly of Rosendale, died on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Michalene’s in Ripon.
Deak was born in Oshkosh, on October 1, 1926, the son of Arthur and Emily (Cramer) DeCramer. He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1944, and on June 21, 1947 he married Margaret Vollbrecht at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale, and they made their home in Rosendale. Deak worked as a Golf Course Pro and Manager at Tuscumbia Country Club from 1962 to 1982. He was also head mechanic for Lawsonia Links from 1985 to 1990. Deak had a life long love affair with flying, and treasured his involvement with all his friends in the Ripon Flying Club, of which he was a 20 plus year member. He was especially close to Keith and Carol Myers, and Tom Chase, and treasured the friendship of his exceptional neighbors, Jerry and Penny Fairbank, who kept his life rich after a debilitating stroke.
Survivors include his children, Kevin (Carole) DeCramer of Brandon, WI; Marcia DeCramer of Milwaukee, WI; Laird (Linda) DeCramer of Princeton, WI; Henry (Deby) DeCramer of Yulee, FL; five grandchildren, Jason and Adrienne DeCramer of Yulee, FL; Callista and Sullivan DeCramer of Princeton, WI; and Matthew Zorn of Brandon, WI. Deak was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; and son, Craig DeCramer.
Per Deak’s request there will be a time of gathering held on Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 1-5:00 p.m. at Myers Airfield, N6698 County Rd. PP, 2 1/2 miles northwest of Ripon. Please join the family as we celbrate Deak's Life with food , drink and memories. RSVP to 920-229-4458.
