LaVerne M. Meier, age 90, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
LaVerne was born December 20, 1920, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Anna (Strasser) Young. She graduated from high school in Chicago and on February 3, 1945, LaVerne married John P. Meier. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon.
Survivors include her husband, John of Ripon, WI; four children, John Meier Jr. of MI, Holly Meier of Waupun, WI, Larry (Julie) Meier of Eagle River, WI and Heidi (Rick) Blair of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Betsy (John) Steenbergen, Molly Meier, John Meier, Jenny (Ryan) Kerola and Jake Blair and one sister-in-law, Alice Young of Chicago, IL. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Young.
Visitation for LaVerne Meier will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011, from
4 – 6:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for LaVerne Meier will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac St. Ripon, WI 54971. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established.
