Laverne K. Owens, age 87, of Ripon, WI, formerly of Iron Ridge, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Prairie Place in Ripon.
Laverne was born December 5, 1928, in Hartford, WI, the daughter of Henry and Elva (Goetz) Wolf. She graduated from Hartford High School. In 1950, Laverne married Owen Owens in Iron Ridge, WI. She worked as a line assembler at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, WI. Laverne was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Lou Reabe of Hartford, WI and Phyllis Miller of Ripon WI; sister-in-law, Mitzi Wolf and numerous nieces and nephews. Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Owen; sister, Elaine Graf; brother, Donald Wolf and three brothers-in-law, Wallace Reabe, Juno Graf and Jerry Miller.
A graveside service for Laverne will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11:00 am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 1185 W. Sumner St., Hartford, WI 53027. Father David La Plante will officiate. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 10000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
