Laverne Toussaint

LaVerne A. (Burger) Toussaint, age 86, of Ripon, WI, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Maple Crest Manor in Ripon.
LaVerne was born on January 7, 1925, the daughter of Elmer and Lillian (Welk) Burger. After graduating from Ripon High School she moved to Milwaukee and was employed as a contractor for a little insurance company, a training coordinator and a loan closer for a Savings and Loan Association. On September 30, 1952, she married Harold E. Toussaint and they resided in Milwaukee until May of 1976, when they returned back to Ripon. Upon her return, she became employed as a faculty secretary at Ripon College until her retirement in 1987. LaVerne enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers play and she was a cross-stitch expert.
Survivors include one sister, Carol McElroy of Ripon, WI; one sister-in-law, Doris Burger of Madison; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; four sisters, one brother, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visitation for LaVerne Toussaint will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, from 10 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for LaVerne Toussaint will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Pastor Joshua Pegram will officiate. Private interment will take place on Monday, September 12, 2011, at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI. Memorials may be given to the Agnesian Hospice Hope, 430 E. Division St. Fond du lac, WI 54935 or Maple Crest, 150 N. Douglas St. Ripon, WI 54971.
