Lawrence V. “Sam” Boers, age 79, died Wednesday evening, March 20, 2002, at the American House of Ripon.
He was born November 3, 1922, in Ripon, the son of Victor and Artolena (Buetow) Boers. He received his education in Ripon. Lawrence was a farmer and construction worker in Waupun. In the late 1980’s, Lawrence moved to Ripon from the Brandon-Waupun Area.
Survivors include his mother, Artolena Boers of Ripon; children, Doris LeViness of Portland, OR, Roger (Debra) Boers of Ripon, June (Robert) Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Victor L. (Audrey) Boers of Pine Grove, PA, and Wanda Boers of Portland, Oregon; 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and 1 sister, Dorothy (Carroll) Schattschneider of Green Lake. He was preceded in death by his father; and 2 children, Beverly and Diane Boers.
Funeral service for Lawrence Boers will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2002, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. Rebecca A. Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery, Brandon. Memorials to Hospice Hope.
