Lawrence Scheier

March 28, 1922 — June 3, 1996

Lawrence E. Scheier, 74, of Ripon, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.

He was born March 28, 1922, in Manchester, a son to Earl and Mable (Marwitz) Scheier. Lawrence attended rural school at Military Road School in Salemville. He served in Germany during World War II. On November 28, 1948, Lawrence married the former Gertrude Lueback in Kingston. He worked at Ripon Foods, and lived in Markesan prior to moving to Ripon in 1981. He was a member of the Markesan American Legion and the Ripon V. F .W.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude of Ripon; 7 children, Larry of Beaver Dam, Carl and his children, Scott & Tara of Markesan, Darlene (Robert) Nelson and their children, Jolene & Bobby of Ripon, Robert and his children, Tobey & Tracy of Tomah, Tim of Ripon, Linda of Berlin and Jeff of N. Carolina; great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Eleanor Clark of Markesan. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Laverne.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5, 1996, at 2 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Rev. Arthur Volkmann officiating. Burial will be in Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Park in the Township of Farmington, Waupaca County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
