Lenora Hilke, age 87, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at University of Wisconsin Hospital Madison.
Lenora was born August 21, 1927, in Lomira, WI, the daughter of Hubert and Selma (Meyer) Schultz. She went to Trinity Lutheran School in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1945. Lenora married Gordon Kloehn March 28, 1948. He died September 1, 1991. She then was united in marriage to Lawrence Hilke May 21, 1994 until he died on October 10, 2002. She retired from Speed Queen in Ripon after 25 years of service. Lenora was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. She was also a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid, Ripon Senior Bowlers, Monday night card club and Golden Girls. Lenora was on the Board of Directors at the Senior Center and member of the Speed Queen Retirees Club. She enjoyed traveling both in the state and abroad, gardening and planting flowers. Lenora will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Steven (special friend, Joan Wightman) Kloehn of Waukau, WI; three step-children, Kate Wickens of Madison, WI, Robert (Caryl) Hilke of Ripon, WI and Mary (Fred) Busse of Appleton, WI; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lynette Altenburg of Plover, WI and Vivian (Denver) Behm of Neenah, WI and numerous nieces and nephews. Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one sister, Bernice Prain and four brothers-in-law, Robert Altenburg, Jack Prain, Fred Piechockie and Dr. Neil Kloehn and one sister-in-law, Lorraine Piechockie.
Visitation for Lenora will be held Monday, January 12, 2015, from 4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 10 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Lenora will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Pastor Dennis Meier will officiate. Interment will take place at Waukau Cemetery in the Town of Rushford. Memorials may be directed to Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
