Leo A. Wizner, age 61, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 1988, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Leo was born on February 4, 1926, in Ripon, the son of Frank and Gladys (Antkowiak) Wizner. He attended school in Ripon and lived there for most of his life. He went on after school to serve our country in the U.S. Navy in World War II, and then became a carpenter for Oscar Boldt Construction. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and also St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Leo is survived by his son, Frank of Ripon; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Sherry) Bier of Gunnison, CO; five grandchildren; one brother; four sisters: Mrs. John (Geraldine) Krentz of Ripon, Mrs. Helen Smith of Ripon; Mrs. Adrian (Florence) Eslien of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Andrew (Betty) Somodi of Milwaukee. He is preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and nine brothers and sisters.
A visitation for Leo will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 7, 1988, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with a VFW service at 7:15 pm and a Rosary at 7:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 8, 1988, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, with Reverend William Toelle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patricks Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
