Leola Kirk Schultz, age 79, of Ripon, WI, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Kindred Hospital, Milwaukee from complications following open heart surgery.
Lee was born in Lilbourn, MO, August 26, 1924 to Clay & Olia Kirk who preceded her in death, as also her brother & sister-in-law, Doyle & Henrietta Kirk. She attended school in St. Louis and graduated from Hancock High School.
Lee is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald M. Schultz of Ripon; her daughters Donna Healey, Warminster, PA & Sandra Roesch, Kansas City, MO and her son D. Andrew Schultz, Ripon, WI, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.
Lee & Don met in St. Louis, MO when Don was attending military training. They were married there on Dec. 15, 1942. They moved many times through the war years settling first on the West Coast in Portland, Oregon & then later in Green Lake, WI on Dons familys farm.
Lee worked in two of the finest restaurants in Green Lake -- Heidel House and Van Rhyans. She was active in the Eastern Star & Past Matrons Club. She loved to read, to cook & raised wonderful flowers. She loved her family the most. We will miss her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2004 at the Federated Church of Green Lake with Reverend Karen Gygax-Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date.
