Leona Onie Keipe, 81 of Green Lake, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at her home.
Leona was born on October 25, 1929, in Little Mecan, the daughter of Adolf and Edna (Peterson) Schmudlach. She attended Princeton High School. On November 1, 1947, she married Victor Keipe in Germania Lutheran Parsonage. Leona was a housewife, worked as a sewing machine operator at PGI in Green Lake, and also worked for the Silent Women in Ripon. She was Baptized and confirmed at Little Mecan Church in Montello. Leona was a unique woman, she enjoyed sewing and cooking, making people laugh, she was witty, had a great laugh and was good at storytelling. She also enjoyed bird watching, skunk shooting, was a mole whacker, was a collector-investor and enjoyed learning new things on the computer.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki (David) Schultz of Ripon; two granddaughters, Kari Schultz and Kelly (Eddie) Schultz Bryant both of Ripon; two brothers, Eddie (Elaine) Schmudlach, Harold (Roselly) Schmudlach; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Keipe; nieces and nephews, special friends, and her faithful cat, Tommy. Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor Keipe; one infant daughter, Bonnie Jean Keipe; one brother, and one sister.
