Leona Otto, age 97, of Markesan, passed away early Saturday morning, March 11, 2006, at Markesan Resident Home.

Leona was born October 1, 1908, in Green Lake County, the daughter of John and Mary Polus. She attended a country school near Princeton. On September 27, 1933, she married Romie Otto in Green Lake. Leona was a housewife, she also cooked and cleaned for residents of Green Lake. She was a member of Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic Church where she sang in the choir.

Leona is survived by son, David (Anne) Otto of Appleton, WI; brother, Donald Polus of Princeton; brother-in-law, Floyd Otto of Beaver Dam; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children. She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband Romie, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

A mass of Christian burial for Leona Otto will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday March 14, 2006 at Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic Church, Green Lake, with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery, City of Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
