Leona Worrall

October 8, 1906 — February 2, 1989

Leona Ellen (Austin) Worrall was born in Prairie Farm, WI, on October 8, 1906. She and her family moved to Glen Flora where she attended school from 1st to 10th Grades. Leona then went to Ladysmith High School where she graduated and then attended Normal School for one year.

She married Henry David in December 1929. They had a son, Paul Austin David. They were divorced in 1932.

Later in November of 1937, she married Donald Worrall. They moved to Bruce in 1941, where Donald was Postmaster. She worked as a postal clerk for two years. After having a son, Thomas Oliver Worrall and a daughter, Kathleen Ellen, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1963. She retired after more than 30 years of teaching from the Flambeau Area School.

In 1979, she moved to Ripon where she lived until moving to Cedar Lake Home in West Bend where she passed away February 2, 1989.

Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Foss of Victor, Montana; son, Paul (Erma) David of Hubertus, WI; a son, Thomas (Christena) Worrall of Ripon, WI; a daughter, Kathleen (William) Lueschen of Cedarburg, WI. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jean Carrell, June Peters, Richard David, Wayne David, Sarah Lueschen, Erin Lueschen and D. Andrew Worrall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Worrall on February 18, 1961 and two brothers, Harry and Aaron and a sister, Lily.

Mrs. Worrall was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon and the Mary Martha Circle. She was active in church activities including being a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Rusk County and was a member of the Rusk County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Worrall had taught at the following schools: Sentinel Ash, Lone Elm, Bruce, new Hutchinson, Island Lake, Glendale, Holcombe, Willard and Ingram (Flambeau Distrist).

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. The Reverend Robert B. LeCount will officiate.

Friends may call from 5 until 7:00 pm on Sunday, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

On Tuesday, Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at the Bruce Federated Church in Bruce, WI. The Reverend Virgil W. Nulton will officiate. Interment will be in the Bruce Cemetery in Bruce. Friends may call from 10 until the hour of the service at the church. A memorial in her name has been established for the Cedar Lake Home Campus or Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
