Leonard Isadore Darnick, 80, of 602 Halbert St, Green Lake, died on Monday evening, November 21, 2005, at Sunnyview Rehab & Health Center in Princeton.
Leonard was born on April 4, 1925, in Green Lake Co., the son of Theodore and Agnes (Maslowski) Darnick. He attended Spring Brook School, and in July of 1948, he married the late Shirley Erickson. In April 2000, he married Sharon Jacobsen. They made their home in Green Lake where he delivered fuel oil and gas for Drews Oil Company, and was a cottage caretaker on Green Lake. Leonard enjoyed bowling, gardening, bird watching, hunting and fishing. He was a former member of the Green Lake Lions, and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Green Lake; one son, Dennis (Janet) Darnick of Ripon; one daughter, Sandy (Donald) Pick of Berlin; three granddaughters, Rebecca, Rachel and Angela Darnick; step-children, Laura (Michael) Wrenn of IL, John (Karen) Jacobsen of MN, Marilyn (Scott) Beyer of FL, Jim (Nora) Jacobsen of FL; step-grandchildren; one sister, Leone Zanto of Fond du Lac; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Shirley in April 1991; and three brothers, George, Frances (Toots) and Felician (Fin).
Funeral service for Leonard Darnick will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Rev. Donald Deike officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 25 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial gifts will be given in his name to Sunnyview Cancer Unit or American Cancer Society.
