Leonard Henslin, age, 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI.
Leonard was born January 10, 1929 in Princeton, WI, on the family farm, the son of Emil and Elsie (Kunnert) Henslin. He graduated from Princeton High School and went to serve our country in the United Sates Army. On April 14, 1951, Leonard married Doris Krentz in Montello, WI. He worked many years for Speed Queen and at various other independent sales positions. He had a great passion for gardening and woodworking. Leonard was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Most of all he loved his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278 in Ripon. Leonard was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon where he served on the church council.
Survivors include his wife of 61 ½ years, Doris of Ripon, WI; his children, Debbie (Craig) Teela of Ripon, WI, Wayne (Holly) Henslin of Racine, WI, Pat (Rick) Ehrenberg of Ripon, WI, James (Donna) Henslin of Ripon, WI, Bruce (Michelle) Henslin of Onalaska, WI, and Jeff (Peggy) Henslin of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Jason (Nena), Brett (Erica), Heather (Jess), Joshua (Lisa), Aaron, Ryan, Ross, Kyle (Theresa), Tyler, Dustin, Lindsey, Eric (Angie), Brooke, Travis (fiancé, Hanna) and Shawn; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Vennetta Jeske of St. Louis, MO, brother, Allen (Carolyn) Henslin of Oshkosh, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert and grandchildren Mike Teela and Katie Ehrenberg.
Visitation for Leonard Henslin will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 4 – 6:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971 and again on Monday, October 22, 2012, from 10 – 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971.
Funeral Service for Leonard Henslin will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Bryan Fritsch will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors. A memorial is being established.
