Leonard Waters

Leonard Earl Waters, 61, of Ripon, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, unexpectedly at Ripon Medical Center.

He was born August 3, 1937, in Green Lake County, the son of Nelson and Magdalen Bednarek Waters. He was educated in Rosendale, Ripon and Markesan school districts. On February 23 1957, he married Josephine A. Disterhalf. Leonard was employed at Alliance Laundry Systems as a machine operator for the past 32 years, and a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local #1327. And a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. He had a private snowplowing service for more than 30 years. In his early employment years, he worked for Fred Wilkes Excavating, and Ronald Altnau Sr.

Surviving Leonard are his wife of 42 years, Josephine; three
daughters, Mary Jo Osheim of Neshkoro, Judy Kohls, and Ann Marie (Steve)
Wuest, both of Ripon. Six grandchildren; Michael, Steven, and Peter
Osheim, Robbie Kohls, and David and Jennifer Wuest. One Sister, Alice
Ann (Arvin) Krueger of Pinole, CA and one brother, George Waters of San
Antonio, TX and several nieces, nephews, and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one son-in-law, Dale Osheim.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday June 16, 1999, at 10:30 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon with Father Robert A. Fictum officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday June 15 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon from 3:00 to 7:30 PM with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:30 PM. The family will also be having a visitation on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A Memorial has been established.
