Leone Elvers, age 94, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2002 at the Christian Home, Waupun.
Leone was born June 24, 1907, a daughter to Emil and Luise (Krentz) Schilf. She was raised and attended school in the Green Lake area. On August 1, 1928 she married Bernhard (Ben) Elvers. Ben passed away in 1980. Leone was a homemaker who enjoyed making quilts for church projects, gardening,and especially growing flowers. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon and enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Aid.
Leone will be sadly missed by her two sons; Donald (Grace) Elvers of Jacksonville, FL., and Edward (Gerlinde) Elvers of Beaver Dam, WI. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one child in infancy, one daughter, (Elaine Drews) and one grandson. Also preceded by three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 20, 2002 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Services will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon. Rev. Paul Holte will officiate. Interment will be at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
