Leone Mashock, age 86, of Ripon, died gracefully at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac on Tuesday afternoon, May 15, 2001, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born in Fairwater on September 16, 1914, at the time of World War I, to Fred and Mabel (Hasse) Sasada. Leone attended school in Fairwater and Brandon, and on July 18, 1933, she married Edmund Mashock. Mrs. Mashock was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. She was a homemaker and had resided in Eldorado and Princeton, and the past 40 years in Ripon.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Betty (Dwaine) Loest of Fond du Lac and Karen (Tom) Engledow of Flint, Texas; 1 son, Dennis (Jackie) Mashock of Ripon; and grandchildren, Ross & Joseph Engledow, and Steven & Erin Mashock; 2 nephews; and 1 sister-in-law, Esther Sasada of Waupun. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Mashock; and one brother, Carl Sasada.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2001, at the Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate. Memorials to Our Saviours UCC or Hospice Home of Hope.
