Leroy "Lee" Masek

April 7, 1942 — March 3, 2012

LeRoy “Lee” Joseph Masek, age 69, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.

Lee was born April 7, 1942, in Chicago, IL, the son of Roy and Laverne (Maly) Masek. He graduated from Glenbard West High School and continued his education at Chicago Institute of Music. In 1981, Lee married Karla Deibert in Green Lake. He worked as a manufacturing engineer at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. Lee was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake, American Gear Manufactures Association and will also be remembered for his dedication to and service as co-founder of Silver Knights Drum and Twirling Corps in Villa Park, IL. He had a great passion for his hobby of model railroading and was also an avid and dedicated bowler, bowling a 300 game at Howie’s Green Meadow Lanes which earned him membership in the Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, Karla of Green Lake, WI; children, Jeffrey (Maggie) Masek of
St. Louis, MO, Jenny Masek of Westminster, CO, Stacy (Tom) Bernd of Cross Plains, WI, and Bethany (Mark) Andersen of Oshkosh, WI; grandchildren, Addison, David, Danielle, Ryan, Emily, Adam, Katelyn and Mady; one sister, Kathy (Robert) LaBree of Colorado Springs, CO; nephew, Michael (Margot) LaBree of Centennial, CO, and aunt, Rita Masek of Lillian, AL. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and one uncle, George (Rita) Masek.

Visitation for Lee will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 9 – 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 440 Lake St., Green Lake, WI 54941.

Memorial service for Lee will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 440 Lake St., Green Lake, WI 54941. Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake, WI, or to any music program of your choice.
