Roy G. Masek, age 88, of Green Lake, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at the Markesan Resident Home, in Markesan with his family by his side.
Roy was born in Cicero, IL, on October 3, 1920, the son of George and Anna (Sedlacek) Masek. He graduated from Farragut High School in Chicago. On May 24, 1941, he married LaVerne Maly who preceded him in death on April 25th 1996. Roy was the plant manager at Industrial Gear Manufacturing Company in Chicago. Upon his retirement, he moved to Colorado Springs, CO where he resided until September of 1999 when he moved to Green Lake.
Survivors include his children, Lee (Karla) Masek of Green Lake, WI, and Kathy (Bob) LaBree of Colorado Springs, CO. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Jeff (Maggie) Masek, of Sunset Hills, MO, Jenny Masek of Westminster, CO, Mike (Margot) LaBree of Centennial, Co, Stacy (Tom) Brend of Cross Plains, WI, and Bethany (Mark) Andersen of Oshkosh, WI; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, George (Rita) Masek of Lillian, AL.
Visitation for Roy Masek will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, CO. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to any charity of one’s choice.
