Leslie Harry Brown, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, November, 8, 2012, at Michalene’s in Ripon.
Leslie was born December 12, 1928, in Ripon, the son of Harry C. and Dorthea (Crook) Brown. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in Beaver Dam, WI, and went on to serve our country in the United States Army in Korea. On December 4, 1954, Leslie married June Berndt at The United Church of Christ in Ripon. He was a machinist at Speed Queen until his retirement. Leslie was a member of the VFW Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278 and a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, June A. Brown of Ripon, WI; son, Jeffrey A. (Jane) Brown of Oakfield, WI; grandsons, Daniel, David and Brian all of Oakfield; sister Harriet Reetz of Berlin, WI; brother-in-laws, Lloyd Penke of Brandon, WI and Melvin Berndt of Ripon, WI and many nieces and nephews. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Helen Penke and Janet Jahnke; brother, Donald and infant brother, Clark; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed Reetz, Ronald Jahnke, Earl and Ellen Berndt, Lawrence and Katherine Berndt, Gilbert and Marion Berndt and Lorraine Berndt.
Visitation for Leslie Brown will be held on Monday, November, 12, 2012, from 9-11 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971.
Funeral Service for Leslie Brown will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Jerry Schrankler will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon with Full Military Honors. A memorial is being established.
