Lester Fredrick Hopp, age 85, of Ripon, died Saturday, October 21, 2000, at All about Life Rehabilitation Center, Fond du Lac.
Lester was born December 20, 1915, in the Township of Metomen, a son to Albert and Lillian (Meinke) Hopp. He attended Ripon School and married Beatrice Gardenier in North Fond du Lac on December 20, 1949. Lester was the sexton of the Bethel Reeds Corner Cemetery for many years and farmed in the Ripon area his entire life.
Survivors include nieces and nephews; Marlene (David) Wahoski, Portland, OR.; Sandra (George) Koller, Ripon; Mary Gray Budahn, Mayville; David (Carol) Gray, Waupun; Sandra Gray Kempf, Waupun; and Jacquelyn Adamski, New York. Greatnephew and niece; Daniel Budahn, Mayville; and Jessica Kempf, Waupun. Brother-in law; Fred Yurk, of Ripon. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Laura Gray, and brother-in-law Dial Gray.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.on Tuesday, October 24, 2000, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Rebecca A. Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery, Town of Metomen. A memorial has been established.
