Lester L. Schultz, age 73, of Madison, WI formerly of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 1991, at University Hospital in Madison after a long battle with cancer.
Lester was born June 30, 1918, in the Town of Brooklyn, Green Lake County, the son of William and Louise (Lambrecht) Schultz. On May 23, 1942, he married Ione Henning at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. They resided in Ripon until moving to Madison in 1965. Mr. Schultz served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the Lt. Marion C. Cranefield V.F.W. Post #1318 and the American Legion Post #482 both of Madison. He was employed as a painter at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Survivors include his wife, Ione; one daughter, Mary Jo (Duane) Updike and one son, Phillip L. (Jackie) Schultz both of Evansville, WI; six grandchildren, phillip, Jill and Jeffrey Updike, and Sherri, Christina and Kelly Schultz; two brothers, George and Bernard Schultz, both of Green Lake and his mother-in-law, Lydia Henning of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation for Lester will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 1991, from 4 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral service for Lester will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 1991, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
