Lewis E. Keipe, age 76, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on December 2, 1986, at Berlin Memorial Hospital.
Lewis was born December 4, 1909, in Green Lake, WI, the son of William and Ida (Gruse) Keipe. He graduated from Green Lake High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On May 27, 1939, Lewis married Eileen Schrader in Ripon. He worked as a County Highway Supervisor. Lewis was also employed as a carpenter by Krueger and Krause, a driver for Bird Trucking Company and he retired in 1974, as a Highway Supervisor for the Green Lake County Highway Department. Lewis was a member of Federated Church of Green Lake and of the Board of Stewards, Ripon-Green Lake Masonic Lodge #95 and past Master and he was a member of Ripon-Green Lake Chapter #151 Order of the Eastern Star and past Worthy Patron.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two daughters, Connie (Wilfred) Meier of Bristol, WI and Carla Rodgers of Green Lake, WI; two grandchildren, Brenda and Bill Meier of Bristol and one sister, Dorothy Nordquist of Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation for Lewis will be held on Thursday, December 4, 1986, from 4 – 8:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Masonic Service at 8:30 pm.
Funeral Service for Lewis will be held on Friday, December 5, 1986, at 11:00 am at The Federated Church of Green Lake with Reverend Dwight Bastian officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
