Lillian Irene Leu, age 83, of Ripon, died on Monday, October 13, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Lillian was born in Ripon, on June 5, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Prellwitz) Kosanke. She graduated from Ripon High School in the Class of 1943. On May 24, 1952, she married Howard C. Leu in Ripon. Lillian worked as a receptionist at Speed Queen until she started her family. She was a life long member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, and the Alter Guild and the Women’s Guild of the church, and a charter member of Ripon Lioness, and a life member the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Ripon.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Leu of Ripon; one son, Lynn (Nancy Nelson) Leu of Novato, CA; one daughter, Susan (Chuck) Cooper of Eagan, MN; three grandchildren, Siegfred Leu of San Luis Obispo, CA, Holly Cooper of Denver, CO, Robert Cooper of Ames, IA; one sister, Carol (Allen) Hedeman of Peoria, IL; two sisters-in-law, Nina (Eugene) Leu Zepp of Grass Valley, CA, and Carol Leu of Marshfield, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Bobby Kosanke.
Visitation for Lillian I. Leu will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008, from 4-7:00 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Friday, October 17, 2008, from 10-11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral service for Lillian I. Leu will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon.
