Lloyd "Corky" Nitz

Lloyd “Corky” Frederick Nitz, age 82, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Markesan Resident Home with family by his side.
He was born on July 6, 1931, the son of Otto and Ruth (Heckes) Nitz. He attended Ripon area schools and in 1953 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Pigorsch in Oshkosh, WI. Corky was a hard working farmer all his life. His passion was farming and taking care of animals. Corky loved to spend time outdoors on his land. He was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Pickett; and he was previously on the Town Board for the Town of Rosendale.
Survivors include his children, Debra (Dan) Bierman, Green Lake, WI, Susan Kernan, Laguna Niguel, CA, Dennis Nitz, Ripon, WI, and Diane (John) Ottman, Berlin, WI. He is further survived by three grandsons, Joshua, Alex, and Clinton; brother-in-law, Marvin Bradley, sister-in-laws, Betty Bradley and Shirley Drew, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and special companion his dog Vera. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; his parents, Otto and Ruth Nitz; sister, Jean Nummerdor; brother-in-law, Marvin Nummerdor; brother-in-law, Cliff Drew; two nephews, Steven Drew and Brian Bradley.
Visitation for Lloyd “Corky” Nitz will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 502 County Road M, Pickett, WI 54964.
Funeral services for Lloyd “Corky” Nitz will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett. Pastor Jud Krohn will officiate. Interment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica. Memorials in his name may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church, in Pickett.
