Lloyd James Hansen, age 72, of Ripon, WI, died December 12, 1996 at his home.
He was born October 5, 1924, in Milwaukee, a son to Harold and Ione (Hubbard) Hansen. He attended Milwaukee Public Schools. Lloyd served his country in World War II from May 5, 1943 to February 12, 1946. On April 19, 1947, he married the former Esther Anne Gibbs in Milwaukee. In 1965, they moved to Ripon where Lloyd worked at Speed Queen as a foreman in the Porcelain Department until his retirement in 1986. Since 1989, Lloyd has worked at Ripon Ace Hardware doing maintenance. Lloyd liked to fish, do woodworking and yard work.
In addition to his wife, Esther, he is survived by his four children, Debra (Chris) Neuswanger of Denver, Colorado, Peter (Jan) Hansen and Mary Hansen, both of Ripon and Richard Hansen of Appleton; two grandchildren, Justin and Melissa Hansen of Ripon; and his mother, Ione Hansen of Milwaukee. He is further survived by two brothers, Lyle (Pat) Hansen of Tomahawk and David (Cheryl) Hansen of Waukesha, and two sisters, Dorothy (Herb) Marx of Milwaukee and Ruth Ann (Gene) Goodearle of Horicon. He was preceded in death by his father, daughter, Ginger; sister, Jean; and twin sister, Betty.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 16, 1996, at 6 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Pastor James D. Mohr officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 6 pm at the funeral home.
