Mrs. Lois A. Morgan, 80, of W12162 Olden Rd, Town of Ripon, died Sunday evening, May 12, 2002, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon after a brief stay.
She was born April 10, 1922, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Otto and Alberta (Meiklejohn) Rogge. She graduated from Goodrich High School in 1939, and did assistant teaching for 3 years. Lois then did government civil service work in Washington, DC for 2 years, followed by 3 years of civil service work in Japan. On August 25, 1951, she married Maurice Morgan at the Methodist Church on Division St. in Fond du Lac. She currently was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon, and at one time had belonged to various circles of the church.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice Morgan; daughter, Kay (Robert) Zahn of Ripon; son, Thomas Morgan of Ripon and his children, Sarah & James; 2 nieces, Barbara (Tony) Mahler of Auburndale and Jeanne (Jack) Davis of Brookfield, and their aunt, Helen Glissendorf of Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends. Over the years, Lois had served as a mother to 3 AFS students and numerous other foreign students. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Carlton; and sister, Charlotte; and daughter-in-law, Sue Morgan.
Funeral service for Lois A. Morgan will be Thursday, May 16, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon with Rev. David A. Busker officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A Memorial has been established in her name.
