Lois Ann Oskola, age 94, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Whispering Pines in Ripon, WI.
Lois was born last of six daughters to William and Margaret (Dudzinski) Wepner on December 27, 1929 in Ripon. She was educated in the Ripon School District.
On August 30, 1947 she married Marvin John Oskola at the Methodist Church in Brandon, WI. They were married 61 years before his death in 2009.
The couple farmed first on Reeds Corner Road with Grandpa Adam and later bought a farm on Brandon Road. The Oskolas sold their farm in the late 60s and moved into a house also on Brandon Road. Lois then worked at the Preiss Shop, Ripon Cooperative Gas Station and K-Mart/Little Ceasar’s. She and John delivered The Reporter on a rural route for many years.
The family attended the Hillside Assembly Church in Ripon.
Lois is survived by her children, Michael (Marilyn) of Brandon, WI, Dennis (Karen) of Ripon, WI, James (fiancée, Amber Annette Ridgeway) of Neenah, WI and Mary (Jeffrey) Ritchart of Necedah, WI; four grandchildren, Sandra (Bruce) Zabel, Michelle (Joshua) Diehl, Elizabeth Ritchart and Jeffery (fiancée, Kelly Gehring) Ritchart II; five great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; and a ninety-nine year old sister, Joyce Moore. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
Those preceding her in death are her husband, John Oskola; a grandchild, Amy Oskola; a great-grandchild, Kaden Diehl; her parents, William and Margret Wepner; four sisters, Eyvan (Clarence) Reimer, Elizabeth (Arden) Gatzke, May (Raymond) Cordrey and Alice (Reid) Decker; and a brother-in-law, Russell Moore.
In her later years Lois enjoyed sitting outdoors and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. She liked attending family reunions and especially enjoyed the annual Christmas family get-togethers where she could catch up on what was happening in her relatives’ lives.
She will be remembered for being a great cook, a hard worker, having a generous, loving nature and possessing a very determined spirit.
Cremation will take place. A family Celebration of Life will be held at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral home at a later date, with Pastor Don Deike officiating.
The family would like to thank Wolverton Glen Assisted living, Whispering Pines Nursing Facility, Dr Richard Gauthier (her long time doctor), SSM Hospice (their social workers, RNs and chaplain) and the visiting women and choir of Hillside Assembly Church who all helped in some way to enrich her life.
