Lois M. Saphner, age 76, of Rosendale, WI, passed away Friday, April 11, 1986, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Lois was born June 25, 1909, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of M.V. and Minnie (Burr) Adkins. She was educated in Ripon and LaCrosse Normal. Lois married Edward Saphner on June 20, 1929 until his passing on October 9, 1969. She worked as a supervisor at the Women’s Correctional Facility at Taycheeda. Lois was a member of the Rosendale United Church of Christ, the Rosendale Senior Center, Fond du Lac Federated Women’s Club and of the Ripon and Fond du Lac Bowling Leagues.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita (William) Gauger of Manitowoc and Lois Klapperich of Ripon; six grandsons and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one great-grandson.
Visitation for Lois will be held on Sunday, April 13, 1986, from 5 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Service for Lois will be held on Monday, April 14, 1986, at 1:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Gordon Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established for the Cancer Fund.
