Lois Jean Wilke, age 70, of Ripon, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
She was born January 10, 1927, at the home of her parents in Green Lake Township, a daughter to the late Reinhardt and Ella (Splittgerber) Wilke. She attended Maple Lawn School, graduated from Brandon High School and attended Fond du Lac Commercial College. Lois was employed as clerk stenographer at Wisconsin Power & Light Company in Ripon from 1945, until her retirement in 1986.
Lois was baptized and later confirmed at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon, currently called Our Saviours United Church of Christ, where she served as Sunday School Treasurer for many years. She was a Charter Member of the Lake Aires Womens Barbershop Chorus, and coached The Eversharps Barbershop Quartet. She was a member of the Wisconsin Power & Light Company Pioneer Club, bowled for many years, and did volunteer work at
Ripon Medical Center.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Wilke of Ripon, and 2 nephews, Mark Wilke and David Wilke and his wife, Tern and their children Sean and Nichole, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Florene Wilke.
Funeral service will be Monday, May 5, 1997, at 7:00 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Rev. James D. Mohr officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 3 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon.
