Loretta R. Miller-Konrad, 93, of Oshkosh, WI, formerly of Pickett, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh.
Loretta was born on April 18, 1914, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Ernest C. and Pauline (Heiden) Meilahn. She graduated from Oshkosh High School, and then attended the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh. Upon receiving her degree, Loretta went on to become a Teacher. She married Herbert Miller in 1935. After Herberts passing, she married Armin Konrad in 1983. Loretta was a devoted member of Elo Evangelical Church of the Nazarene, where she served in all areas. She was a member of the Professional Teachers Organization, a founding member of the Pickett Community Center, and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Loretta also served both as a Member and an Officer for the Winnebago Community on Aging.
Survivors include two daughters; Linda (Dan) Drown of Toronto, Canada, and Pauline Miller (and special friend, Mary) of Owatonna, MN., one son; Tim (Beverly) Miller of Green Bay, WI, 5 grandchildren; Shannon and Matthew Drown, Gary Miller, Susan Phillips, and Sharon Meilahn Bartlett, 2 step daughters; Kathryn Hackberth and Joy Hammer, 2 step sons; David and Richard Konrad, 11 step grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren, 5 great-great step grandchildren, 5 sisters-in-law; Gerylene and Carole Meilahn, Marjorie Larson, Adeline Swope, and Erna Zahn, as well as several nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, both of her husbands, 3 brothers; Leonard, Wesley, and Nelson, and 2 sisters; Mavin and Myrtle.
Visitation for Loretta R. Miller-Konrad will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 2:30-3:30pm at Elo Evangelical Church of the Nazarene, Pickett.
Funeral Service for Loretta R. Miller-Konrad will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 3:30pm at Elo Evangelical Church of the Nazarene, Pickett with Pastor Judith Lipp officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Town of Utica. A memorial has been established.
