Louis F. Smith, age 72, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, November 18, 1985, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Louis was born March 7, 1913, in Ripon, WI, the son of William and Anna (Smith) Smith. He married Thelma Ballard on October 6, 1933 until her death on June 6, 1971. Louis worked as assistant foreman for public works department for 17 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, of Ripon Fire Department from 1943 to 1981, Ushers Club at church for over 35 years and a bus driver for Ripon Public Schools for over 40 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Smith of Ripon, WI, Faye Zacharias of Markesan, WI and Linda Taylor of Ripon, WI; one son, Elmer Smith of Ripon, WI; seven grandchildren, four sisters, Dorothy Zimmerman of Princeton, WI, Henrietta Mlodzik of Ripon, WI, Gladys Ballard of Lamartime, WI and Roberta Pechman of Oshkosh, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, one brother and one sister.
Visitation for Louis will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 1985, from 5 – 8:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Service for Louis will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 1985, at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Carl Stubenvoll and Intern Stephanie Steiner officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
