Lucille Anna Marie Heidel, passed away Tuesday evening, January 18, 2005, at Markesan Resident Home in Markesan.
She was born in the Village of Rosendale, the 10th of eleven children of August H. and Emma (Schmidt) Bluemke. During her life, she was a member of the Rosendale Congregational Church and Green Lake Federated Church. She attended Rosendale High School, LaCrosse College and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. On December 24, 1938, Lucille married Herbert Frederick Heidel of Brandon, WI.
Mr. and Mrs. Heidel purchased property on the North Shore of Green Lake and established the Heidel House Restaurant and Resort in 1945. They operated the business until their retirement in 1968 to Carefree, AZ. Lucille was a member of the Teachers Association, Desert Forest Golf Club, and Desert Foothill Womens Club.
Mrs. Heidel was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert F. Heidel; 4 brothers, Leon, Oscar, Herbert and Hugo Bluemke; 6 sisters, Elsie Morgan, Irma Salisbury, Gertrude Jackson, Beatrice Teckham, Marcella Hoffmann, and Dorothy Jankowski. She is survived by 2 sons, Brian (Bonnie) Heidel of Naples, FL and Brent Heidel of Monticello, VA, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon on Saturday, January 22, 2005. Private entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Oshkosh, WI. A memorial has been established in her name, c/o Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, PO Box 371, Ripon, WI 54971.
