Lucy Schwarz, age 85, of Green Lake, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Berlin Memorial Hospital in Berlin, WI.
Lucy was born on August 31, 1925, in Chilton, WI, the daughter of Benjamin and Dorothy (Schumacher) Petrie. She graduated from high school and attended Oshkosh Business Normal. On April 12, 1947, Lucy married Eugene Schwarz in Stockbridge, WI. She was a secretary for PGI Inc. for many years. Lucy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 306, 59ers Homemakers and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She volunteered at the food pantry or wherever she was needed. Lucy was a secretary treasurer of her Condo Association, 4-H Leader and the treasurer of Dartford Cemetery Association.
Survivors include three children, Thomas (Mary Kay) Schwarz of Green Lake, WI, Steven (Joyce) Schwarz of Lima, New York and Patricia (Steve) Westpfahl of Green Lake, WI; six grandchildren, Tammy (Ross) Boelk, Tyler Schwarz, Megan (Les) Dickert, William Schwarz, Heather (Dennis) Haack and Bradley Westpfahl; five great-grandchildren, Shawna, Natalee and Colten Boelk, MacKenize Kelly and Lilly Haack; two brothers, Jim Petrie of New Holstein and Frank Petrie of California and numerous nieces and nephews. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great-grandchild, Mariah; brother, Dave Petrie and her sister, Kathryn Goggins.
Visitation for Lucy Schwarz will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011, from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, January 8, 2011, from 10 – 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St. Green Lake, WI 54941.
Mass of Christian Burial for Lucy Schwarz will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, WI. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. Interment will take place at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake, WI. A memorial is being established.
