Luella Poblitz

Luella Mae Poblitz, age 89, of Ripon, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Harvest Guest Home in Richland Center, WI.
Luella was born in Town of Metomen, on July 10, 1919, the daughter of Elmer and Eva (Watson) Poblitz. She graduated from Brandon High School and Oshkosh Business School. Coming back to Ripon Luella was very involved in the community and church as she was a member of board of directors of Russell Manor. She worked as a secretary at Ripon Foods for four generations of the Bumby family over her 46 years (1942 to 1988) with the company.
Survivors include her cousins and long term traveling companion, Helen Ford Johnston; Charles and Johanne “Jo” Ford and many other cousins; and close neighbors Glen and Lois Page. Luella was preceded in death by her parents; and long time companion Horace Taylor.
Visitation for Luella Mae Poblitz will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 am, on Monday, January 26, 2009, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral service for Luella Mae Poblitz will be held at 11:00 am, on January 26, 2009, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery, Village of Brandon. Memorials may be given to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ or to the Alzheimer’s Assn, Southeast WI, 6130 West National Ave, Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI 53214. A special thank-you to the friends and caregivers, Joe and staff from Harvest Guest Home in Richland Center, WI.
