Lydia Abbie Kinsman, age 91, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Barrett House in Ripon.
Lydia was born on April 29, 1921, in Rowley, MA, the daughter of Jesse and Julia (Morong) Chase. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1939 and Fisher Business School, Boston, in 1941. Lydia was a volunteer with the Red Cross of MA during WWII and on September 8, 1945, she married George Westwood Kinsman of Peoria, IL, in Watertown, MA. Lydia and George first lived in Arlington, MA, during which time she was active with PTA and church. They moved to Lebanon, NH in 1961. While living there, they were members of Lebanon Grange and 1st Baptist Church of Lebanon, and Lydia sang in the choir and served as secretary of the church for many years. She worked as executive secretary for the superintendent of schools in Lebanon, NH for 17 years until her retirement in 1984. In 1978 Lydia and George moved to Quechee, VT and after her husbands death Lydia moved in 1995 to Ripon, WI to live near her daughter. Lydias greatest joys in life were her husband, children, and grandchildren, and her Christian faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Wayne) Lagro of Loveland, CO and Laurie (Robert) Wallace of Ripon, WI; one son, Daniel (Nina) Kinsman of Jacksonville, NC; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.
A graveside service for Lydia Kinsman will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon, NH.
A gathering in the garden for Lydia Kinsman will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Barrett House, 632 Hilltop Lane, Ripon, WI 54971 from 6 - 7:30 pm.
