Lyle Eugene Garb, age 66, of Ripon, died Monday, February 15, 1999, at his home after a short illness.
He was born April 14, 1932, in Fond du Lac County, a son of the late Albert and Marie (Levenhagen) Garb. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and a member of American Legion Post #0378 and VFW Post #5278. He was involved in agricultural and farming experiences, and was a member of the Wisconsin Horse Pulling Association.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Jeanette whom he married on December 2, 1988; 1 son, Scott of Chicago; 2 daughters, Julie of Fond du Lac and Tracey of Ripon; stepchildren, DuWayne (Laura) Polcyn of Neillsville, Douglas (Wendy) Polcyn of Ripon, and Pamela (Kenneth) Mack of Tomahawk; 1 brother, Raymond Garb of Beaver Dam; 1 sister, Janice (Orville) Retzlaff of Ripon; 18 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terrie VandeBerg and a brother, August Garb.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 17, 1999, from 4 until 7:30 PM with a VFW Service at 7:30 PM at the ButzinMarchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 18 at 11 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Burhard officiating. A graveside legion service will follow at Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery, Town of Metomen.
