Lyle J. Sonnenberg, 72, N8619 Comorn Rd, Ripon, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Holbrook, AZ as a result of a car accident.
He was born June 14, 1932 in Oshkosh, a son to George and Esther (Pollack)
Sonnenberg. Lyle graduated from high school in Oshkosh and on September 8, 1951, he married Lois Collins in Oshkosh. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard for 16 years, retiring as a Captain. Lyle worked at Speed Queen for 15 years then Condon Transport until retiring. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, Lois of Ripon, WI; 4 sons, Allen (Nancy) Sonnenberg of Menasha, WI, David Sonnenberg of Lancaster, CA, Richard (Susan) Sonnenberg of Pewaukee, WI and Marc Sonnenberg of Ripon, WI; 2 daughters, Debra (Tim) Sweeney of Green Lake, WI and Rebecca (Lon) Hetzel of Ripon, WI; 9 grandchildren, Amy, Terry & Tim Sonnenberg, Casey Sweeney, Shelby Sonnenberg, Tyler & Kayla Hetzel, and Stephanie & Jennifer Sonnenberg, 1 great-grandchild, Jackson Sonnenberg; and 2 sisters, June Stearns and Ruth Luther, both of Oshkosh, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Orville & Harland; and 1 sister, Bernice.
Mass of Christian Burial for Lyle J. Sonnenberg will be at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Ripon, with The Rev. Robert A. Fictum officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 3311 South Packerland Dr., DePere, WI 54115.
