Mabel L. Banks, age 96, of Ripon died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Michalene’s, 530 N Union St, Ripon.
She was born February 10, 1903, in Ripon, a daughter to George and Lillian (Dettman) Banks. She attended school in Ripon and was a graduate of Ripon High School. Mabel had been a bookkeeper and payroll clerk at Ripon Foods until her retirement. She had lived in Ripon all of her life, and was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ. Mabel had been a member of the Pilgrim Rebekah Lodge #195 for the past 71 years and was the treasurer for 36 years.
She is survived by good friends, Betty (Ed) Ott and Ethel Gatzke, both of Ripon. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Alice in 1987.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30, 1999, from 4 until 7 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home where a Pilgram Rebekah service will be held at 7 PM. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10 AM until the hour of the service. Funeral service for Mabel Banks will be Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at 11 AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Burnard officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials may be given to Michalene’s in her name.
