Mabel M. (Dahlke) Bloedel, age 99, of Ripon, WI, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
She was born on May 27, 1912, in Neshkoro, WI, the daughter of Edward and Clara (Sexton) Dahlke. Mabel graduated from Neshkoro High School and also graduated from Oshkosh Business School in Oshkosh. She worked as a cashier at Oshkosh Theatre and in 1935; Mabel married Richard L. Bloedel of Markesan at the Lutheran Church in Lexington, Kentucky. She was active in Girl Scout Council, Blood Bank and On First Ripon Hospital Auxiliary. Mabel was a member of Tuscumbia Golf Course for over 50 years. She was involved in Bowling, the Ladies Bridge Club, Sheephead and Spite and Malice.
Survivors include her two daughters, Donna Long of Ripon, WI and Claire Wood of PA; one son, Robert (Barb) Bloedel of FL; grandchildren, Richard (Lisa) Long, Ronald (fiancée, Gay Mandeik) Long, Rebecca Long, Paige Melvin, Susan Walker; step-grandchildren, Brian (Susie) Erlichman and Robin (Scott) Lord; many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, Sterling Long. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; brothers and sisters, Myrtle (Art) Reetz, Harold
(Esther) Dahlke, Clayton (Peg) Dahlke, Doris (Robert) Fisher and Cecil Dahlke; grandson, Brian Wood and sons-in-law, Jerry Long and Harold Wood.
Visitation for Mabel Bloedel will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011, from 1 – 2:30 pm at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St. Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial service for Mabel Bloedel will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011, at 2:30 pm at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Mark R. West will officiate. A private family inurnment will take place prior to the service. A memorial is being established.
